Head Instructor Mr Jake Pearson, IV Dan, took over the club from Mr Graham Patterson in April 2007. He started his Taekwon-Do career together with Mr Patterson in 1987, age 12, at the Khandallah Taekwon-Do Club under the instruction of first Mr George Nichols then Mr Patrick Eastwood. Gained I Dan in 1993, then moved to Dunedin in 1994 to start university, and continued training at Mosgiel Club under Mr Grant Evans. In 1996 founded the Dunedin Taekwon-Do Club, at which remained head instructor until moved back to Wellington at end of 2000. Competed at ITF World Championships in Italy in 2001 as part of NZ team. Currently works as a sports doctor, and also enjoys keeping fit, travelling and spending time with friends and his young family. Seen below performing a flying reverse turning kick on a suspended board held by Mr Nick Eley. |
